Quick one for you this week, as I had an early flight out of Miami this morning that has brought on the jet lag! What was I doing in Miami? Oh, you know, driving a 2005 Porsche Carrera GT with 603 miles on the clock. I know, I know, it's a tough life. I asked the owner of the business that owns the CGT how many miles I could add and he said around 10. I returned it safe and sound with 612 miles showing on the odometer. How was it? About as good as a car can get.
This car, and a similar mileage 1992 US-spec Ferrari F40 are both being auctioned off by RM Sotheby's in a few weeks during Moda Miami. Full disclosure: I was making content with both cars for RM Sotheby's and I'm an advisor to the company selling them, Drift Capital, an automotive asset management firm. Why is Drift selling these cars? Obviously to take a profit, but also to purchase higher mileage versions that investors will be able to drive. Dibs on the future F40!
