Hi there! Cards on the table: I've never launched an app before. I'm not even totally sure that BidBetter is an app. More of a website? A tool? Point is, we put a ton of work into BidBetter, and were excited to start sharing it with the world. However, I had a bit of trepidation about doing so because what if people hated it? Worse, I was sharing it with my inner circle of car geek friends. What if they hated it? Not to get dramatic, but I just don't think I can take that kind of rejection.

The YouTuber test

The first real test was a well-known automotive YouTuber and podcaster, who said something like "Bro, I literally have no interest in anything that has to do with AI." This would be a tough cookie. Still, at this point I was proud of how BidBetter was working. I told him to go ahead and poke around. To his credit he did, and he was impressed. He also gave us some key feedback—as did several other friends—that we'll be rolling out with what we're calling Phase II. One halfway curmudgeonly automotive podcaster down, one final boss to go.

The car-radio challenge

"We can totally talk about it on the show, but you know our co-host is just going to make fun of it." So said the host of a car radio show I'm on, about our co-host, a notorious crank. I hadn't really thought about what he would say, but I told the host, "Yeah, I know. But I'm so confident in BidBetter that I think I'll win him over." Not to make you read too much further, but after the standard amount of ribbing, our co-host said, "This is very good, actually. I like this." Bam!

The Verdict

So yeah, if BidBetter can impress those two grumps, my confidence is high. Go see for yourself at bidbetter.ai.
